Finding Balance in Menopause Through Analogue Wellness
Menopause is a journey unlike any other. It arrives quietly at first – subtle shifts, a change in rhythm – and then suddenly you find yourself in the thick of it. Sleep becomes elusive, your body carries a new kind of weight, your mind feels foggy and the emotions… they come in waves, unexpected and intense.
I know this because I’ve lived it.
I’ve felt the relentless night sweats, waking up drenched and restless. I’ve experienced the brain fog that turns simple tasks into exhausting puzzles and the emotional shifts that make you question everything you thought you had figured out. My body changed in ways I wasn’t prepared for – puffiness, unexpected weight gain and a deep exhaustion that felt impossible to shake.
At times, I felt disconnected from myself, my body felt unfamiliar, something I no longer recognised. And yet, through all of it, I found my way back. Not by fighting it, but by listening, slowing down and honouring the changes instead of resisting them.
Menopause isn’t something to fix – it’s something to move through with intention, grace and support. And for me, embracing Analogue Wellness became my sanctuary.
A World of Information Overload and Mental Overwhelm
Menopause isn’t the only reason many of us feel out of balance. We live in a world of constant noise, endless notifications and overstimulation – where our minds are pulled in a hundred different directions at once.
Despite unlimited digital entertainment, studies show people are feeling more bored, stressed and disconnected than ever before (Communications Psychology study via NY Post). Similarly, research found that 73% of remote workers experiencing digital overload have started using physical books, paper planners and other hands-on activities to restore focus and mental clarity (GlobeNewswire report).
In a world that constantly pulls us outward, Analogue Wellness calls us back home – to ourselves, to simplicity, to balance.
What is Analogue Wellness?
Analogue Wellness is a conscious return to the tangible, the real, the deeply felt. It’s about stepping away from screens, distractions and overstimulation and instead, embracing the simple, hands-on experiences that ground us, calm our nervous system and bring us back into harmony.
It’s the act of reclaiming time for yourself in a way that feels nourishing, intentional and deeply human.
During menopause, when your body and emotions feel like they’re shifting beneath your feet, these small analogue moments can be the anchor that brings you back to centre.
Simple Analogue Rituals for Balance & Well-being
Every woman’s menopause experience is different and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. But finding rituals that support your body, mind and spirit can help you move through this phase with more ease, clarity and connection.
Here are a few analogue practices to explore:
• Cold Water Immersion – Whether it’s an ocean dip, a cold shower or a simple splash of cold water on your face, cold therapy can be a powerful reset. It helps boost circulation, reduce stress and shift stagnant energy – leaving you feeling refreshed and awake in both body and mind.
• Meditation for Deep Rest & Clarity – Taking time each day to sit in stillness can be one of the most grounding and nourishing practices during menopause. Meditation helps regulate stress, improve sleep and bring a sense of inner calm, even amidst emotional shifts. Whether it's a guided practice, breath awareness or Vedic Meditation, allowing yourself this space can create a profound sense of balance and renewal.
• Sound Healing & 432 Hz Tuning – Music tuned to 432 Hz is often called the harmony frequency because of its ability to align with the body’s natural rhythms. Whether you experience a full sound bath or simply listen to 432 Hz frequencies while resting, this vibration is known to promote deep relaxation, ease tension and bring the nervous system back into balance.
• Journaling for Reflection & Release – Menopause isn’t just a physical transition – it’s an emotional and spiritual one. Writing down your thoughts, fears and reflections creates space for clarity, self-expression and release. Let your journal be a companion – a place to unburden yourself without judgment.
• Reading a Physical Book – In a world of instant gratification and scrolling, there is something deeply grounding about holding a book in your hands, turning the pages and allowing yourself to get lost in words that nourish your soul.
• Cooking as a Nourishing Practice – Preparing meals with intention and mindfulness can be an act of self-care. Foods that support hormone balance, herbal teas that soothe the nervous system and the simple act of cooking with love can help bring more connection and balance into your day.
• Gentle Movement & Grounding – Instead of pushing your body through intense workouts, choose movement that feels nurturing. Whether it’s stretching, yoga, walking barefoot on the earth or dancing to your favourite song, move in a way that feels good, not forced.
• Creative Arts & Crafts – Engaging in hands-on creative work like painting, knitting, pottery or any form of crafting can be incredibly soothing and meditative. Creativity is a powerful way to express emotions, calm the nervous system and bring a sense of presence and fulfilment into daily life. It’s not about perfection – it’s about play, exploration and letting your hands guide you.
My Personal Sanctuary in Menopause
For me, daily dips in the ocean became a sacred ritual. There’s something about immersing myself in the ocean – the feeling of being cradled by nature, the cool water reawakening my energy, the vastness reminding me of my place in something greater – that brings me back to life in the most grounding and uplifting way.
Meditation became my non-negotiable. In the moments that felt overwhelming or uncertain, it offered me a quiet steadiness I could lean into. It became my scaffolding, helping me feel anchored and more resilient, even when everything around me was shifting.
I found my own way through. And you will too.
Menopause is a Beginning, Not an End
Menopause is not an ending – it’s an initiation into a new kind of power.
A time to release old expectations, reconnect with yourself and redefine what it means to be in your body.
So if you’ve been feeling lost, disconnected or exhausted – know that you are not alone.
Start small. One analogue moment at a time. A deep breath. A handwritten note to yourself. A song played in 432 Hz. A morning swim. Let these small rituals build into something bigger – a life that feels balanced, authentic and deeply fulfilling.
You are not stuck. You are transforming.
And on the other side of this transformation is a woman who is stronger, wiser and more radiant than ever before.
This is your time. Embrace it.
